Europe … home to the birthplace of golf. But there is some dispute as to exactly where this now global game of sticks and balls originated. Most would say Scotland, but was the Scottish game merely a variation on a theme developed by the Dutch?

Those who traverse the breadth of Europe with golf clubs in tow can discover a wealth of excellent golfing venues … and an unrivalled variety of cultural distractions. The links courses of Britain and Ireland are legendary. Venture onto the mainland of continental Europe and a wonderful variety of golf offerings open up. Some of the best can be found spread around the continent’s huge coastline, while inland the splendours of parkland, lakeside and mountainside golf are all here in abundance.

To make the most of your vacation, mini-break or business trip, and to help in your planning, you can look up the location of the courses on our customised maps for that country and region.
