Winston Spencer Churchill, arguably the greatest and most famous of all English Prime Ministers, was also a keen golfer, whose membership at Walton Heath Golf Club spanned 45 years. Winston once described golf as "a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into a very small hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose".
