In the 2019/20 season, Scheffler took the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year honours. He also joined another elite club in August 2020, shooting only the 12th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history. This incredible feat was recorded with a 12-under-par 59 in the second round of the The Northern Trust tournament at TPC Boston. His round was the joint second-lowest in PGA Tour history, Jim Furyk having posted a 58 in 2016.
His first three PGA Tour wins came in the space of just five PGA Tour starts in February and March 2022. The wins culminated in him becoming the 25th player to reach the Official World Golf Ranking No.1 spot. He became the ninth player from the USA to hold the No.1 title, and the sixth youngest in the ranking's history.
Just two weeks after his crowning as the world's No.1, Scheffler made it four wins in six PGA Tour starts. He took the 2022 Masters Tournament and with it his first major championship win. A second Masters title followed in 2024, a remarkable year in which he also won The Arnold Palmer, The Players Championship, The Heritage, The Memorial, The Travellers, the Tour Championship, and an Olympic Gold medal.
