Did you know?

Mediate enjoyed a successful professional career on the PGA Tour, despite being frequently plagued by serious back trouble. In 2008 he came close to winning the US Open. All that stood between him and the trophy was an 18-hole playoff; his opponent - Tiger Woods. In an enthralling Monday on Torrey Pines' South course, both men ended the playoff with an even par round of 71. Tiger finally settled the matter with a par to Mediate's bogie on the first sudden-death playoff hole, the 91st of the tournament.

In 2016 Mediate recorded his first major championship win in the U.S. Senior PGA Championship, where he prevailed over defending champion Colin Montgomerie.
