In 2011, his freshman year at UCLA, Cantlay was a four-time tournament winner. At the end of that year he won the Haskins Award as the most outstanding college golfer in the United States. He holds the record (54 weeks) for the most consecutive weeks as the world's No.1 ranked amateur golfer (a global ranking that was introduced in 2007).

Played as the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open (Nov 2-5; PGA Tr 2018 season). 25-year-old Cantlay (USA) beat Alex Cejka (Ger) and Whee Kim (S Kor) with a par at the second playoff hole (par-4 18th). This was Cantlay's first PGA Tour win coming in his 43rd start on the Tour. [TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nev.].

79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.

Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
