Jiménez has worked on several design and redesign projects. He is best known for his first complete design, the Old Course at the Prosper Golf Resort Čeladná in the Czech Republic.
On tour Jiménez is well-known for possessing a solid, flattish swing that has brought him great success. As a professional golfer he has notched-up over 30 wins around the world (including 21 European Tour events), two senior major championship titles and four Ryder Cup appearances.
In July 2020, at the English Open, Jiménez played in his 707th European Tour event, the most appearances on the Tour by any player. He surpassed Sam Torrance's record 706 appearances. 56-year-old Jiménez celebrated his achievement with an 8-under-par 64 in the event's first round.
Jiménez loves driving fast cars (especially Ferrarris), and once worked in an auto service shop for a few months, hence his nickname "The Mechanic". He is also well known for his love of red wine (especially Rioja), cigars (Cuban of course), whisky (Lagavulin) and eye-catching golf shoes (hand-made by Gigi Nebuloni, a small, family-business in Milan).
