Born in South Carolina, Kisner attended college across the state border at the University of Georgia, where he and the "Bulldogs" golf team won the 2005 NCAA Division I championship. His teammates, Chris Kirk, Richard Scott and Brendon Todd also became touring professional golfers.
Turning professional in 2006, Kisner had to wait until 2015 for his breakthrough win on the PGA Tour ... during that year, he recorded three losses in playoffs and four runner-up finishes before stepping into the winners' circle in November at the RSM Classic.

Played as the Wyndham Championship (Aug 12-15). Kevin Kisner (USA) beat Branden Grace (RSA), Kevin Na (USA), Adam Scott (Aus), Roger Sloan (Can) and Si Woo Kim (S Kor) with a birdie at the second playoff hole (par-4 18th). All six made par at the first playoff hole. [Sedgefield CC, Greensboro, NC].

Played as the Dean & Deluca Invitational (May 25-28). Second-placed Sean O'Hair (USA), Jon Rahm (Esp) and defending champion Jordan Spieth (USA) finished 1 shot behind Kevin Kisner (USA), who recorded his second PGA Tour win. [Colonial CC, Ft Worth, TX].

Played as the RSM Classic (Nov 19-22, 2015; PGA Tour 2015/16 season; formerly the McGladrey Classic). Second-placed Kevin Chappell (USA) finished 6 shots behind 31-year-old Kevin Kisner (USA), who recorded his first PGA Tour win in his 109th start on the Tour. In 2015 he had already "endured" three playoff losses and four runner-up finishes. [Seaside course, Sea Island GC, GA; Plantation course also used during first two rounds].
124th US Open: the No.2 Course at Pinehurst once again plays host to this most illustrious championship (June 13-16). Wyndham Clark defends his title, having won at Los Angeles CC in 2023.
79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.

Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
