Did you know?

Campbell was the first golfer to win both the Women's British and U.S. Amateur Championships in the same year. She was also the first woman to win national championships in five different countries: United States, England, Scotland, Canada and Bermuda.

During her playing career Campbell was also known as Dorothy Hurd and Dorothy Howe, following her marriages and subsequent divorces from Jack V. Hurd (a Pittsburgh steel magnate and member of Oakmont CC) and Edward Howe. Tragically she died in a railway accident in 1945, after falling from a platform into the path of an oncoming train.
