After an excellent amateur career, which included attending and playing for the University of Tulsa, Koch turned professional in 1992. She subsequently enjoyed success on the European, Asian and US LPGA tours. In 2015 she captained the European Solheim Cup team.

Played as the inaugural TSN Ladies World Cup of Golf (Sept 15-17; 54-hole aggregate strokeplay; Ladies Eurpn Tr event). Second-placed England (Laura Davies & Trish Johnson) finished 5 shots behind Sweden (Sophie Gustafson & Carin Koch), who won the team first prize of IR£100,000.
