Clwb Golff Nefyn Golf Club (formerly known as Nefyn & District Golf Club): You'll never tire of the spectacular and ever-present Irish Sea views here on this dramatic 27-hole clifftop layout at Nefyn. The wind may have gnawed at your bones by the time you finish ... but don't let that put you off one of Britain's great seaside golf experiences.
The 18-hole Championship course (Yellow or "old back-nine", and Red or "inland nine") is played on a plateau above the cliffs, where the terrain is quite open, allowing sea views from just about all the holes. The front-nine takes you down to the coastal cliffs, and then plays above and alongside them. The back-nine plays slightly more inland, but still offers constant sea views.
Played as a separate stand alone third nine, the Point course (Blue or "old front-nine"), takes you onto an immensely scenic headland. Here firm tight fairways, and elevated tees and greens, run along the narrow peninsula that leads to Porthdinllaen lifeboat station. One or two of The Point's holes are a little bit quirkier than you'll find on the Championship course, certain to test your shot-making and course management especially when played for the first time.
The ever popular Point-nine provides a memorable opportunity to inspect the Irish Sea at close quarters. It's rather like golfing at Ireland's Old Head of Kinsale but at a fraction of the price. With all the spell-binding coastal scenery, and a very solid and well-maintained layout, Nefyn offers a golf experience that you'll be talking about for years.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends. The Point-nine (if available) can only be played as part of a 27-hole package, when combined with your booking on the 18-hole Championship course.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: men 28; women 36.
Contact club for full details, discounts, packages, and Point-nine availability. [Last updated: 2025].
Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire. On the clifftop holes of the Championship course, and throughout on the Point-nine, you must be very mindful of passing walkers using the public footpaths that run alongside the course.

Formerly know as Nefyn & District Golf Club, the original nine-hole course was extended to 18 holes in 1912, and to 27-holes thereafter. The present layout now comprises an 18-hole Championship course and The Point, nine holes that put you above the sea on the clifftop Porthdinllaen headland.
