Mui Ne could formerly be described as an isolated stretch of beach where intrepid travellers camped on the sand. Since those days the area has undergone considerable development to produce a string of resorts, spread out along a 10 km strip of highway. The original fishing village is still here, but tourists now outnumber the local population.
