4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Est. 1992

Sultan's Run Golf Club: Two iconic hotels and four golf courses (including the revered Pete Dye and Donald Ross courses) all contribute to the fabled French Lick Resort. At the resort's centre, the French Lick Springs Hotel is an American classic. Just over a mile to the north you'll find the European styled West Baden Springs Hotel, with its extraordinary atrium.

Located about 24 miles to the southwest of French Lick is the resort's newest addition, the Sultan's Run Golf Course. Sultan's Run is a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in Indiana. This tree-lined and open parkland course provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. The course offers a tremendous parkland environment, with rolling hills, wonderful bunkering and a waterfall behind the 18th green. A must play if you are in the area.

Designed by Tim Liddy, a disciple of Pete Dye, the course occupies land on which the legendary Supreme Sultan sired a record number of world champion American Saddlebred horses.

Did you know?

The lush pasture land on which the golf course is laid out, was once home to Supreme Sultan, a legendary horse that sired a record number of world champion American saddlebred horses. Now, this same ground recalls the heritage of Supreme Sultan, while engraved stone markers at each tee-box provide memorials to the world champions he sired. Sultan's Run GC is managed by the French Lick Resort.
