Island Pointe
Island Pointe Golf Club (formerly called River Islands Golf Club): this remarkable Arthur Hills layout is located not just on one bank of the French Broad River near Kodak, Tennessee ... but on opposing banks ... and on three connecting islands in-between.
The course features numerous holes crossing or playing alongside the French Broad River, with four holes located on the islands in the middle of the river. Plenty of golfing challenge (Arthur Hills usually makes sure of that) and a well-crafted design contribute to the appeal of this riverside course. Maintenance standards have been described in reviews as "variable".
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
The French Broad River, which is spanned by Island Pointe GC, flows for 218 miles from the Blue Ridge Mountains near Rosman in North Carolina. It travels through Tennessee before connecting into the Holston River in Knoxville, where it becomes the Tennessee River.
