Southampton Golf Club: with neighbours around you like Shinnecock Hills, National Golf Links of America and Sebonack, there's little wonder this Seth Raynor design tends to fly under the radar screen. Flatter and less flambouyant than its peers, Southampton still lays down an enjoyable golfing challenge, and good test for your full repertoire of shot-making.
The mix of straightaway and doglegging holes lead you towards the slightly raised, solidly bunker-defended greens. Only at the par-4 8th does water pose any kind of threat. At the right-to-left doglegging par-4 6th, there's the chance for a quick peak across the road to Shinnecock's par-4 12th.
Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.
Private club; visitors/guests may only play if hosted by a member.

Located in the Town of Southampton, Long Island, close to the shores of Great Peconic Bay, is a quartet of revered private courses that sit cheek by jowl. Oldest of the four is Shinnecock Hills (1891), where William S. Flynn is largely responsible for today's layout. Adjoining Shinnecock to the east, and also "landlocked", is Southampton Golf Club (1925), designed by Seth Raynor.
North of Shinnecock, and directly alongside Peconic Bay, is the National Golf Links of America (1908), laid out by Charles Blair Macdonald and constructed by his protégé Seth Raynor. Much the junior of the four, and also bayside, is Sebonack Golf Club (2005), a modern links course collaboratively designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak.
124th US Open: the No.2 Course at Pinehurst once again plays host to this most illustrious championship (June 13-16). Wyndham Clark defends his title, having won at Los Angeles CC in 2023.
79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.
(May 30-June 2).
Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
