Westchester CC
The West course at Westchester Country Club is a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in New York state. This tree-lined and open parkland course provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. However, this is a private course generally playable only by members and their guests.
Westchester Country Club, despite having a luxurious 72-bedroom onsite hotel, is a fully private facility. Guests may only play on the golf courses and stay at the hotel if sponsored by a member.
Non-metal spike facility. Walking permitted. Caddies available.
Excellent
A self made man from Toronto, John McEntee Bowman came to New York when he was seventeen. He began his career as a groom in a stable and worked his way up to eventually own the Biltmore hotel group, one of the world's most exclusive and largest hotel chains at that time. Bowman sought to create a flagship hotel and sportsman’s paradise within easy reach of Manhattan, and to this end created the Westchester Biltmore, now the Westchester Country Club.
Westchester's highly rated West course was a regular stop on the PGA Tour from 1967 to 2007, and has also hosted a US Women's Amateur Championship and a Senior Players Championship (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Westchester CC).
West course:
New York state's 20th best course (Golf Digest, 2023/24).
South course:
New York state's 40th best course (Golf Digest, 2023/24).
124th US Open: the No.2 Course at Pinehurst once again plays host to this most illustrious championship (June 13-16). Wyndham Clark defends his title, having won at Los Angeles CC in 2023.
79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.
(May 30-June 2).
Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
