Stowe CC
Stowe Country Club: golfing in the renowned Vermont town of Stowe, with Mt Mansfield close by, offers two possibilities. The Mountain Course at Spruce Peak (resort-guest only) is located alongside the ski resort and Lodge at Spruce Peak. It sits on the mountain slopes, a little way below the peak of Mt Mansfield. Stowe Country Club (public access) is located 6 miles to the southeast, and occupies a lower elevation alongside the village of Stowe.
Stowe CC is home to a generally well-regarded golf course, which combines a good layout with several attractive holes and features. This gently undulating, tree-lined, parkland-style layout will test most facets of your game, and should provide a round with plenty of enjoyable golfing challenges.

Stowe Country Club's first teaching professional was one of the greatest golfers to come from Australia, Joseph Henry "Joe" Kirkwood Sr (1897-1970). Amongst his many victories and accomplishments, he is credited with twenty-nine holes-in-one, two of them coming in the same round. He lived out his later years as Stowe's teaching professional.
Mount Mansfield (4,395 ft / 1,340 m), the highest mountain in Vermont, and just below it the Spruce Peak ski resort area, ensure the nearby town of Stowe's reputation as the "Ski Capital of the East". The ski area has plenty of terrain suitable for intermediate and expert skiers.
After their dramatic escape from Nazi occupied Austria in 1938, the famous Von Trapp family (immortalised in the film the Sound of Music) found a new home in the USA, more precisely in Stowe, Vermont.
