Excellent
Bulle Rock is named after the first "Thoroughbred" horse to come to America. He was imported into Virginia around 1731 aged 21 years by James Patton, a merchant mariner, and was owned by Samuel Gist of Hanover County, Virginia. Bulle Rock was sired in England by the Darley Arabian, one of three dominant foundation sires of modern Thoroughbred horse racing bloodstock. Most famed male Thoroughbreds can be traced back to Darley Arabian (a stallion originally acquired in Aleppo, Syria).
Bulle Rock was home to the LPGA Championship from 2005 to 2009 (see our Tournments section >by Venue >Bulle Rock).
