Reynolds Lake Oconee (The Landing course)

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1986

Reynolds Lake Oconee (The Landing course): The Landing, originally known as Port Armor Golf Club and then Reynolds Landing, is a well-rated and always popular golf course. The original golf course at Lake Oconee, the layout made its debut in 1986.

The Landing features a variety of holes that wind through naturally wooded areas and rolling hills, making the course enjoyable for players of all levels. Three holes (the par-4 4th, 5th and 18th) are played directly lakeside, with the doglegging 5th unnervingly wrapped along the shoreline from tee-to-green. The 18th demands a carry across a good-width inlet to find the safety of the final green.

Spread around the extensive lakeside and residential development of Reynolds Lake Oconee are 117-holes of golf, contained in five public-access courses and the members-only Creek Club course.

The Reynolds Lake Oconee courses have been designed and crafted by a veritable Who's Who of great course architects, including: Jack Nicklaus (Great Waters), Bob Cupp (The Landing and The Preserve), Tom Fazio (27-hole The National course), Rees Jones (The Oconee), and Jim Engh (The Creek Club).

Did you know?

Recognised for its natural beauty and riverside forests, the Oconee River has provided a family retreat for over 100 years. Many families quickly decided to "linger longer," turning one-or-two day visits into three-four-or five day family retreats.

By 1982, the river had become Lake Oconee, and Reynolds Plantation, now known as Reynolds Lake Oconee, was founded. It has evolved into a globally recognised resort, community and club, with six golf courses, nine dining venues, four full-service marinas, swimming pools, 21 miles of walking and biking trails, a world class fitness and tennis club, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel at its centre.
