Legacy at Alaqua Lakes
The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes: An attractive tree-lined opening par-4 sets the scene for this excellent Tom Fazio-designed golf course, located just to the north of Orlando. The wonderful variety of straightaway and doglegging holes weave their way through an upmarket residential community, although with plenty of woodland and trees along the way, this top-quality design retains a strongly natural feel.
The ever-present bunkering is expertly crafted; avoiding it will often provide your biggest challenge from the tee. Water also plays its part, but perhaps not as threateningly as the course name might suggest - there are some notable exceptions! The large and undulating greens at the Legacy Club add to the enjoyable challenges of this layout, and will certainly test your putting skills and short game.
Pick of the holes: your round finishes with another excellent par-4; a pleasantly tree-lined hole that meanders up a gentle incline to an elevated, well bunkered green ... an 18th hole that ranks alongside many of the best parkland closing holes in Florida.
The Legacy Club is essentially a private facility, with limited opportunities for outside play.
Must book tee-times in advance.
Golf carts are fitted with GPS.
