Streamsong (Black)
Streamsong Resort (Black course): since opening in 2017, Streamsong's Gil Hanse-designed Black course has underpinned this prestigious golf resort as one of Florida's best. Already home to two revered courses, the Red (designed by Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw) and Blue (Tom Doak), the Black has slotted right in there with its highly-rated stablemates.
Whereas the Red and Blue are intertwined, the newer Black course occupies a separate plot on the southeastern portion of this huge property, which once served as a phosphate mine. Streamsong Black has a classic sandbelt character, with panoramic views, rolling sand-based terrain, and plenty of hollows and ridges.
Stay&Play at Streamsong: luxury onsite accommodation is available in the Lodge and Clubhouse (see Where2Stay section below).
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Contact club for full details, discounts, Stay&Play packages, etc. [Last updated: 2024].
Caddies available (if pre-booked). From Jan thru' mid-April the Streamsong courses are "walking-only"; at other times of the year walking is strongly encouraged. From mid-April thru' mid-Sept golf carts available (with a forecaddie) from 8am. From mid-Sept thru' Dec cart & forecaddie available from 11am.
Excellent
The Streamsong Resort was developed by the long-time owners of the land, The Mosaic Company, the largest U.S. producer of potash and phosphate fertiliser. The golf courses are built on the site of a former Mosaic phosphate strip mine.
The course names at Streamsong (particularly for the Red and Blue layouts) were apparently chosen based on the colour of the ink used by the designers when drawing the respective course routings on the same map.
Black course:
Florida's 9th best course (Golf Digest, 2023/24).
USA's 178th best course, and 29th best public access course (Golf Digest, 2023).
World's 73rd best public access course (Golf World, 2023).
