4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Cabot Citrus Farms (Oaks course): Until recently the two Tom Fazio-designed courses here were known as World Woods Golf Club. Under new owners, Ben Cabot Citrus Farms (Roost course; formerly known as the Oaks course, and before that the Rolling Oaks course): Until recently the two Tom Fazio-designed courses here were known as World Woods Golf Club. Under new owners, Ben Cowan-Dewar and Mike Keiser, both layouts underwent major redesigns in the early 2020's. Not only sporting stylistic changes, they also emerged from the process with a new name, Cabot Citrus Farms.

In its wonderfully natural and forested setting the much-admired Roost layout complements the stunning and highly-acclaimed Karoo course (formerly known as Pine Barrens course). The redesign, by Mike Nuzzo, Kyle Franz and Ran Morrissett, still sees the Oaks course winding through sandy, scrubby areas. Rolling undulating pine woods provide the backdrop to this also excellent championship golf course.

Now part of the Cabot collection of high-end golf destinations, the Karoo course and Cabot Citrus Farms' Roost course (formerly Rolling Oaks) have become stablemates with a distinguished international cadre of Cabot properties. These include, Cabot golf locations in Canada (Cape Breton and BC), the Caribbean (St Lucia), Scotland (Highlands), France (Bordeaux), and Norway (Lofoten Links).

Here alongside Florida's Big Bend coast, the two original World Woods courses, have been transformed into the much revamped 18-holen layouts of Cabot Citrus Farms (Karoo and Roost). They have also acquired new siblings designed by Mike Nuzzo ... The Squeeze, a 10-hole short course, and The Wedge, an 11-hole par-3 course.

Ben Cowan-Dewar, Canadian businessman and visionary golf developer, is the co-founder and CEO of Cabot. He teamed-up with Mike Keiser (of Bandon Dunes fame), to create Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs on a former mining site in Nova Scotia, breathing much needed new life into the local economy in the process. The two entrepeneurs continued their association to expand Cabot into today's international collection of high-end golf properties.

At the last count, the Cabot collection includes: Cabot Cape Breton (Links, Cliffs and 10-hole Nest courses); Cabot St Lucia (Point Hardy Golf Club); Cabot Citrus Farms, Florida (Karoo, Roost, 10-hole Squeeze and 11-hole Wedge courses); Cabot Highlands, Scotland (Castle Stewart and Old Petty courses); Cabot Bordeaux, France (Châteaux and Vignes courses); Lofoten Links (Norway), and Cabot Revelstoke, British Columbia (to open in 2026).

Cabot also manages a growing number of other high-end courses, including Chariot Run, Indiana; Cascata and Rio Secco in Las Vegas, and Grand Bear in Mississippi.
