Baytree National
Baytree National Golf Links: Few courses in central Florida weave their way as attractively and naturally through a residential development as Baytree National. Also flanking many of the excellently crafted holes are large, preserved expanses of woodland and wetland. When housing is present, it usually borders just one side of a hole, often tucked away across a small lake or pond, or set well behind the treeline.
Many lakes and ponds threaten alongside the layout's gently undulating, mounded fairways. Water also menacingly lurks beside several greens, not least at the excellent collection of par-5s. Rather than being defended by ponds, the four par-3 holes require you to negotiate a mix of wetland, stylish bunkering and sandy waste areas en route to reaching the safety of the subtly sloping greens.
Among Baytree National's attractive and excellently maintained holes, the closing par-4 18th is one of the toughest. Its green hangs out over a pond, while substantial bunkering defends the right side of the putting surface - a great closing hole.
A bit of traffic noise from I-95 on a few front-nine holes is the only potential (and minor) distraction you'll encounter on this handsome, predominantly natural, and stylish course.

Excellent
Built in 1992, the championship course at Baytree National was designed by Gary Player. One of the greatest golfers of all time, the "Black Knight" won 24 times on the PGA Tour, with a raft of wins also coming on other international tours. He can also boast nine major titles, including a career slam of all four majors ... (as of 2023) a feat he shares with only Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen.
