Crowfield
Crowfield Golf Club's two nine-hole loops are full of surprises. Most impressive is the way the course transforms from a rather pedestrian and house-lined start, into a thoroughly absorbing and challenging layout; the transformation occurring half way through the front-nine. By the time you get into the back-nine there are early 18th-century colonial ruins to inspect, and an attractive lake to view.
Some of the real estate (the ruin excepted) is just a tad too close for comfort as you progress clockwise around the front-nine, taking on its array of left-to-right doglegging holes (good for faders). On the back-nine you follow an anti-clockwise direction, with all the dog-legs shaped right-to-left (great for drawers).
Plenty of earthmounding has created nicely rolling fairways that lead to often large, elevated and undulating greens. Around the greens substantial bunkering, additional earthmounding and on occasions, menacing water hazards lie in wait to swallow up stray approach shots.
The excellent par-4 6th, par-5 11th and par-4 14th all have water carries before reaching the safety of the putting surface. The most attractive piece of water however comes at the excellent uphill par-3 16th, where a sizeable lake emerges to flank the leftside of the hole.
As the pleasant surprises and more natural elements of this layout unfold, you can count on an enjoyable, challenging and great value round of golf here at Crowfield.

Crowfield Golf Club was built on the former Crowfield Plantation. The land’s original grant dates back to 1701 and was acquired by the illustrious Middleton family. The course is wrapped around the plantation’s ruins, which are visible from several holes on the back-nine. The Club is a municipal facility, owned and operated by the City of Goose Creek.
