Terra Lago (North)
The Golf Club at Terra Lago (North course): Previously known as Landmark Golf Club and for four years the home of the PGA Tour's Skins Games, Terra Lago boasts two excellent championship golf courses. Located on the eastern, rather than western side of I-10 (as most of the region's courses are), the North and South courses are visually different from anything else you'll experience in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area.
Weaving their way through dramatically undulating, rugged, open terrain, you will enjoy breathtaking views out across the whole of the Coachella Valley and away to towering mountain ranges lining the valley.
In this links-like environment of rocky, desert dunes, the North course quickly introduces its spectacular elevation changes. By the time you reach the par-4 3rd the extraordinary vistas will be in full flow. Hopefully your game will be coping with all this drama, and also with the excellent bunkering, much of it deep and threatening around the greens.
You'll be glad of the good-width fairways, especially if the wind is blowing, and may also be pleased to discover a somewhat flatter and less dramatically intense back-nine. However, the second nine-hole loop poses some different challenges. A good sized lake ensures water threatens on the risk-reward short par-4 14th, the island-green par-3 15th and the excellent closing par-4 18th.
With fabulous scenery always in view, rugged desert all around and a dramatic (housing-free) layout, Terra Lago's North course is certainly one to include on your Coachella Valley itinerary.

Under its former name, Landmark Golf Club, the North course at Terra Lago was the home of the PGA Tour's Skins Game from 1999 until 2002, when the winners included Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Greg Norman and Mark O'Meara.
