4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Reflection Bay Golf Club: Reflection Bay at Lake Las Vegas is one of the top golf layouts in Las Vegas, and one that occupies a stunning setting. This wonderful Jack Nicklaus design roams its way across undulating desert terrain and alongside the lake. An excellent balance is achieved between the course's rugged desert features and the manicured, rolling fairways and stylish bunkering that characterise each hole.

Mediterranean villas and houses are perched above some of the earlier holes, but never too closely to intrude on your shot-making. While both nines start in a rolling and at times dramatically undulating setting, they finish in spectacular fashion beside Lake Las Vegas.

The closing threesome on the back-nine (originally the front-nine) are played alongside the very attractive and scenic lakeside, with the greens of the par-4 16th and 18th holes, and par-3 17th all dangerously jutting out into the lake.

The impressive finale to the front-nine (originally the back-nine), brings you alongside the imposing Tuscan-style buildings of the Westin hotel. The picture-perfect par-3 8th is threatened on three sides by the lake, while the fabulous par-5 9th has water and bunkers lying in wait from tee to palm-fringed green. A fabulous resort course, with many memorable holes and stunning desert, mountain and lakeside scenery.

Did you know?

Lake Las Vegas Resort is a 3,952-acre residential, golf and resort destination, surrounding a privately-owned 320-acre lake with a 10 mile shoreline. Resort accommodation includes two top-quality hotels (by Westin and Hilton) and world class spa facilities. The resort's MonteLago Village offers visitors and residents a variety of retail shops, restaurants, a casino and residential condominiums.

What was intended as a premier golf destination now includes the public-access Reflection Bay and private SouthShore courses. The Falls course is now closed, and the addition of a fourth course (Rainbow Canyon designed by Tom Fazio), did not materialise.
The Reflection Bay course became well known to golf fans as the home of the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Lake Las Vegas).
