The Pechanga Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, who own and operate the Pechanga Resort Casino, are based just to the east of the resort, in the Pechanga Reservation. Running through the property and past the resort and golf course is the Pechanga Creek, which runs into the Temecula Creek, a few miles to the northwest. Almost adjoining the Journey at Pechanga golf course, at its northwestern edge, is the golf course of the Temecula Creek Inn.
