Cascata Golf Course

5-star: Fabulous – courses don’t get much better than this.

Est. 2000

Cascata Golf Course: Located just south of Las Vegas, the tightly folding foothills of Black Mountain are home to a desert-style course that stands with the best. Beyond Cascata’s private gates lies a stunningly natural landscape, onto which Rees Jones has crafted a fabulous par-72 layout.

On this constantly undulating desert landscape, full of canyons, ridges and ravines, you'll encounter 18 wonderfully sculpted golf holes, each one designed to test and probe your game while enthralling the visual senses. All are immaculately presented, while many involve dramatic elevation changes and elegantly sweeping dog-legs to left and right. Stunning desert and mountain vistas greet you at every turn, including the 3,600-foot peak at Red Mountain.

The lush green fairways, small lakes and cascading streams contrast sharply with the rugged desert backdrop and its colourful palette of browns, reds and yellows. Don't expect to see houses, roads, railways or any other glimpses of the modern world intruding on this picture perfect setting; mountains, foothills, attractive desert flora and occasionally the immense plain of the Eldorado valley are all that you'll see beyond the course.

For lovers of links golf, you may think you are in amongst the tightly folding and towering sand-dunes of say Ballybunion or Royal Birkdale; however, several strategically placed water hazards and the beautiful desert flora and fauna provide a Nevadan reminder of where you really are. This is unquestionably a desert version of golfing nirvana.

Did you know?

No surprise that Cascata is the Italian word for cascade or waterfall, though you might be surprised to find that a sizeable cascading waterfall runs straight through the wonderful Tuscan-style clubhouse. In this 37,000-square-foot clubhouse you will find an old world ambiance of unpretentious luxury, where attentive staff will tend to your every need.

Previously owned by Harrah's Entertainment (later Caesars Entertainment), Cascata is now part of VICI Properties, who own three other championship courses ... Rio Secco (also in Las Vegas), Chariot Run in Indiana, and Grand Bear in Mississippi. All the courses were previously attached to Harrah's/Caesars nearby casino-resort facilities.
