Bent Brook
Bent Brook Golf Course: Bent Brook's 27-hole layout offers a pleasant round of golf in a mainly open parkland environment. Each of the relatively compact nine-hole loops - the Brook, Graveyard and Windmill - starts and finishes at the clubhouse, with the Brook and Graveyard arguably the best combination. The terrain here is generally quite open, with modest earthmounding separating the fairways and much tree-planting still maturing.
With many tightish drives to make and water making its presence felt on several holes, this is a layout that demands good course management and adept shot-making. Providing these two facets of your game are in place, the shallow bunkering, absence of penal rough between the fairways and not overly large greens should assist the better golfer to shoot low at Bent Brook.
The Graveyard-nine will perhaps probe and test your game the most, with plenty of water hazards to be negotiated and two long testing par-3's. The Brook-nine is the longest and flanked by the other two nines - the long par-5 4th and tough tee shot over water at the par-4 5th will both test your nerve and sinew.
The slightly shorter but also enjoyable Windmill-nine, which briefly takes you out towards the Interstate highway, also has water dangerously in play, but only at the closing two holes. A pleasant course for golfers of all levels, always well presented and with many fine features, not least the usually excellent greens.

Good
Bent Brook's logo comprises a windmill and stream, both of which you'll see behind the farmhouse-style clubhouse. This ample facility resonates with the dairy farmland on which Bent Brook was built.
The Graveyard-nine takes its name from a small cemetery that lies on the property between the 7th and 8th holes. Bent Brook staged the 2004 Alabama State Amateur championship.
