18 km E of Malmo
Leave the E65 Malmo-Ystad motorway at exit "Oxie / Skabersjo" and follow direction Skabersjo. After 400 metres turn right direction Skabersjo. After 3.7 km, at T-junction, turn right direction Torup. After o.6 km turn left direction Torup / Golfbana. After 4.1 km turn right into Bokskogen Golfklubb.
Bokskogens Golfklubb (Gamla/Old course): Superb greens (completely re-laid in 2002) and an excellent layout, will ensure your enjoyment of Bokskogen's Gamla Banan (Old Course).
In a splendidly natural and very quiet setting, beside a fairly substantial lake, this well maintained golf course is certain to please. With a mainly open feel and holes generously spaced apart, only the deep rough (set well back from the fairways) will interfere with those booming drives .... oh, and there is a bit of water to watch out for on a few tee-shots.
The sting is in the tail with many a card wrecked at the tight, dog-leg par-4 17th (which requires crossing a dry stone wall), and the tight drive at the par-5 18th is also a bit of a knee-trembler.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends. Open all year.
Must book in advance. Proof of handicap required.
Soft spikes only. Players generally walk this course.
Good
Bokskogen translates in English into Beech Forest; plenty of fine examples of which surround the course. In 1974 and 1975 Bokskogen hosted the Scandinavian Enterprise Open (now known as the Scandinavian Masters). (See Tournaments section in Encyclopedia).
