Leave A7 at Jtn 6 direction Palamos on C66. After 16 km turn L. direction Pals. After 11km turn R. onto C31 direction Pals. After 7.7 km (passing Emporda Golf on your R.) at roundabout follow direction Platja de Pals. After 4.2 km (with several other roundabouts on the way) turn L at roundabout, follow Country Club and Golf Club de Pals for o.8 km. Golf is on your R.
Golf Platja de Pals is home to a relatively flat course with uniformly sized pines trees lining most of the holes, though thankfully not quite as tightly as they do on the first four. On this opening stretch, breath-in and keep your driver in the bag.
The abundance of trees here at Pals do not exist just to adorn the course or provide your main hazard. They also provide a convenient place to nail a multitude of signs for you to read in several languages. Also noteworthy are nearby towering radio masts, which thankfully are not too disturbing; one of them provides a great “sighter” for your approach to the par-5 16th.
There are many good features to Pals and many fine holes. The tee-boxes here run into the fairways, ensuring no penal carries across rough. This is a peaceful and enjoyable place to play, close to the sea but not within sight of it - and all the more rewarding the straighter your game.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: men 27; women 35.
Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire.
