Where2Golf original write-up: The golf experience at Legend Golf & Safari Resort, located three hours drive from Johannesburg, is nothing short of exceptional. Eighteen different signature holes, on a course uniquely designed by eighteen of the world's best golfers.

Each hole in this relatively open, gently undulating bushland setting has the vision of a great golfer at its heart. The par 72-layout, complete with its stunning mountain backdrops, begins from elevated tees and an excellent risk-reward par-5, courtesy of South African player/designer Trevor Immelman. Another South African, Retief Goosen closes out your round with another challenging par-5 at the 18th. But as you putt out on the final green, all is far from finished ... the Extreme 19th awaits!

Pick of the holes: the Extreme 19th ... this extraordinary par-3 hole, measuring a mere 360 metres is accompanied by a 430 metre vertical drop, down onto a green shaped like the African continent. A short helicopter ride gets you to and from the tee-box, conveniently located on top of Hanglip Mountain.

Short course: to fully test your short game, the Legend also offers a 10-hole short course, recreating some of the world’s most famous par-3s. There's also an academy with a unique approach to learning and designed in a unique style.
