Kyalami
Kyalami Country Club: As the location of many South African Grand Prix events, Kyalami is a name etched in the minds of many motor racing fans. The area is also home to an excellent golf course, situated just 2 km north of the race circuit.
On expansive and gently undulating terrain, this parkland layout contains many excellent golf holes, often tree-lined but never too densely. Beyond the generally good-width fairways and first cut of rough, you will encounter slightly deeper rough than found on many Johannesburg courses, accentuating the need for straight-hitting from the tee. Large, strategically placed bunkers are also lurking out there, waiting to catch any offline drives.
There is acres of space between the holes, none getting too close to another, and also plenty of distance between the course and the opulently large and well-spaced perimeter housing. Seven ponds of various sizes and a creek running through the course, ensure that water comes into play, most especially on the closing four holes of the back-nine. The 3rd and 17th, both long par-3s, are perhaps two of the most memorable of the water-protected holes.
With occasional views onto hills near and far from the layout's higher elevations, and a generally good, though not fussy standard of maintenance, Kyalami is always a pleasure to play - a solidly handsome and challenging golf course.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends; more restricted on weekends. Closed on two Mondays per month.

The name Kyalami became famous throughout the motor racing world as the home of the South African Grand Prix, a Formula One event, held here from 1967 until 1993. Although Formula One cars no longer race here, the Kyalami circuit is still used for many other motor racing events.
Kyalami Country Club originally served the Jewish community in the north of Johannesburg, hence the Star of David in the club's logo. Nowadays members come from all communities in and around the city.
