Knysna
Knysna Golf Club: Although not as dramatic as some of its more recently established neighbours (especially Pezula and Simola), Knysna Golf Club has often been described as one of the hidden gems on the Garden Route.
Adjacent to and at the same level as the Knysna lagoon, this flattish parkland layout is the "senior" course in the area by a considerable number of years. It is also one that has made excellent efforts to keep abreast of the changing demands of golf. The challenge of playing Knysna's generally tree-lined holes, has been beefed-up with the recent upgrading of the greens, addition of new bunkers, and extension of the tidal pools to create additional water hazards.
The proximity of water to many greens, on occasions almost surrounding them, ensures that on both the front and back nine loops, good course management and shot-making will be required to score well. The surrounding hills provide a pleasantly scenic backdrop, while a wonderful array of flora and fauna will give you plenty to look out for on the course itself.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

The popular town of Knysna, which many would describe as the oyster capital of South Africa, is certainly one of the busiest tourist destinations on the Garden Route. The quality and variety of golf on offer in and around Knysna, is also a major plus factor.
Knysna's colourful history spans the days of sailing ships, timber extraction and even a brief period of gold discovery. The vast, indigenous forests just to the north of Knysna became an invaluable source of timber for buildings, ships and wagons from the mid- 1700s onwards. The forests are still home to the only forest-dwelling elephants in South Africa.
