Newmachar (Hawkshill)
Newmachar Golf Club is one of the more recent additions to the golfing scene around Aberdeen, especially if compared with the longevity of some of the revered seaside links offerings in this part of the world. Here at Newmachar, the championship Hawkshill course lays down an excellent test of golf, and is complemented by the shorter and easier-going 18-hole Swailend layout. Both were designed by Dave Thomas.
Measuring over 6,700 yards from the medal tees, the Hawkshill course is set amongst mature silver birch and Scots pine trees. Occasional water hazards combine with strategic fairway and greenside bunkering to make this one of the toughest tests of golf in the area.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
