St Andrews Golf Club

2-star: Reasonably okay course - if better courses not available.

Est. 1975

St Andrews Golf Club: GOLF COURSE PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN 2018 due to a declining membership and an unsustainable financial outlook. If the course remains closed, as seems likely, a little piece of New Zealand's wonderful golfing heritage will have slipped away.

[Original Where2Golf description]: St Andrews Golf Club: not to be confused with the St Andrews course at Hamilton Golf Club in the North island. This tree-lined and open parkland layout enjoys a local following, although is not counted amongst New Zealand's top-rated courses. Worth a visit if you are in the area, and especially for all golfers who enjoy collecting "St Andrews" scorecards!

Did you know?

Before its closure, St Andrews Golf Club shared its name with another New Zealand layout that also carries the name of Scotland's famed Auld Grey Toon. On the country's North Island, Hamilton Golf Club is located in the town's suburb of St Andrews. Unsurprisingly, their course is known as the St Andrews course.
