Millbrook (Coronet)
Millbrook Resort (Coronet course): for many years this expansive luxury resort boasted an 18-hole course, comprising the Remarkables and Arrow nines. In 2010 the Coronet-nine was added. In 2014 the purchase of the neighbouring Dalgliesh Farm on its west flank, allowed Millbrook to extend the Coronet-nine into a full 18, with the resort now able to boast two 18-hole championship courses.
The out-and-back Coronet course at Millbrook now comprises the original Coronet-nine (holes 1-5 and 15-18), and the new "Mill Farm" section (holes 6-14). There are significant cart rides between the "old" and "new" sections, accounting for a "cart-only" policy for this course.
The routing of the newer section gives golfers a tour of the best and most dramatic features of this wonderful landscape. Along the way, with mountain views aplenty, are rocky canyons, babbling streams, wetlands, and a small lake (around which the par-4 9th and 10th are wrapped).
Surrounded by high mountains and tree covered hills on all sides, Millbrook provides one of the very best resort experiences on the golfers' trail in New Zealand. With outstanding scenery throughout, the course can be easy-going or tough and long - the choice is yours, depending on which tees you select.

Good
The Milltown luxury resort occupies what was originally a working farm. The old mill, still with turning waterwheel, is one of several historic buildings on the resort - it is now the Millhouse Restaurant. The use of local schist stone for many of the constructions, and the scattering of old farm machinery here and there, reinforces the resort's historic feel. All the while, looking down on the resort, are the Remarkables mountain range (to the south) and Coronet Peak (to the west).
New Zealand's best courses (Australian Golf Digest, 2023/24):
Millbrook's Coronet course ranked 11th best in NZ; Remarkables course ranked 20th best.
