International, The (Nld)
The International: Located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, The International is home to an inland links-style layout that provides a wonderful test for your all-round game. It is however a private course, generally playable only by its individual and Corporate members and their invited guests.
Designer Ian Woosnam has crafted many attractive and challenging holes into this modern open layout. Plenty of stylish bunkering, small bushes and wispy fescues line the generally good-width fairways. But perhaps most threatening of all are good-size ponds that lurk alongside several fairways and greens. The back-to-back par-5 3rd and par-3 4th are two of the most dangerous holes; plenty of water awaits in front of their stone-fronted greens. The par-4 5th and 6th holes will also test your nerve alongside water, as will the short risk-reward par-5 18th.
Leaving aside the layout's proximity to the busy A9 motorway and to Schiphol (Europe's fifth busiest airport), this pleasantly undulating and excellently maintained course is a delight to play - if you can get an invite. Within a year of opening it was already hosting European Senior Tour and Ladies European Tour events.
Private club - guests may only play if hosted by a member.
Players generally walk this course. Caddies available. Golf carts available for hire.

Nearby Schiphol Airport is the main international airport of the Netherlands and fifth largest in Europe (behind London-Heathrow, Paris-CDG, Frankfurt and Istanbul-Ataturk). It is the home base of Dutch airline Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij - KLM (in English "Royal Airline Company").

Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
