Rijk van Nijmegen
Golfbaan Het Rijk van Nijmegen: With 45-holes of good quality golf on offer and excellent practice facilities, it's no surprise that Rijk van Nigmegen is a busy and popular golf venue - perfect for members, visitors and corporate clients.
The longer and stronger layout is the 18-hole Nijmeegse (Nijmegen) course, as opposed to the 27-hole Groesbeekse (Groesbeek) layout. The Nijmeegse is undulating in parts, flatter in others, and has generally good-width, well-bunkered fairways leading to equally well-bunkered and at times extravagantly sized greens.
To ensure that you don't have everything quite your own way, there are often small trees and bushes bordering the fairways, and you'll need to hit one or two blind tee shots and approaches on the more undulating parts of the course.
Het Rijk van Nijmegen is located just 3 km from the border with Germany. From the closing few holes, starting at the par-4 15th (Nijmegen course), you have a good view across the Dutch rural countryside and into Germany. These attractive views are also available, perhaps more so, from the Groesbeek course.
Although both the Nijmegen and Groesbeek layouts are neither overly dramatic nor too demanding, Rijk van Nijmegen offers a wealth of pleasantly enjoyable golf, and a very solid workout for your game. The club sometimes mixes nine holes from the Nijmegen course with nine from the Groesbeek, which creates six possible 18-hole combinations available to the club.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Handicap required.
