Golf Wouwse Plantage: Sitting on the northern edge of the Wouwsche Plantage forest, you'll discover this very pleasant wooded heathland/parkland golf course. It is set in a wonderfully quiet and natural environment.
The mid-section of the front-nine and the closing four holes on the back-nine are clearly part of Pennink's original design. Each is played through a wonderful area of towering Scots pine, where the tightly tree-lined fairways demand your straightest hitting from the tee ... never more so than at the rifle straight par-5 15th. A few sprinklings of heather add to the "Scottishness" of these holes.
The newer middle section of the course, from the long par-4 6th through to the water-lined par-5 14th, is played across much more open terrain, where smaller trees and water are liberally dotted around. Here you'll feel less constrained and enjoy wider landing areas from the tee.
With only modest undulations in the layout, the awaiting water and bunker hazards are generally clear to see. The two contrasting styles of the tight woodland holes and those with more open space, ensure a good variety of golfing challenges on this thoroughly enjoyable and usually well-presented course.
Visitors welcome on weekdays (Tues, Thur, Fri only from 1:30pm), and after 2pm on weekends.
Must book in advance. Handicap required. Maximum handicap per flight: 108.
Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire.

The original layout at Wouwse Plantage was designed by John Jacob F. "Frank" Pennink, an English golf course architect who was born in 1913 in Delft, Holland. He became a partner in a famous company of golf course designers, together with C.K. "Ken" Cotton, Charles Lawrie and Donald Steel. Pennink was involved in at least 225 design projects in over 30 countries, including at least nine in the Netherlands.
The village of Wouwse Plantage, formerly called Pindorp, is located in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant, alongside the heavily forested Wouwsche Plantage forest. The Wouwsche Plantage lies at the northern end of a line of forests and heathlands that run south from Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands, across the border with Belgium, and down to Antwerp and beyond in the south.
