From the North-South Highway, north of Melaka, take the Alor Gajah exit and follow directions to A'Famosa Resort.
A'Famosa Golf Resort is another of the entertainment and activity-oriented resorts located within easy reach of Kuala Lumpur. Its 27-hole parkland golf course comprises three very good quality nine-hole loops, with a design that's a cut above the average resort layout.
With constant but gentle elevation changes, top-quality bunkering and wonderfully contoured fairways, this is an enjoyable yet challenging course, generally maintained in good condition. The Rockies-nine is liberally sprinkled with attractive boulder outcrops; as you might guess there are plenty of coconut palms on the Palm course, and the Crocodile-nine has its very own crocodile pit.
Although overlooked by a few condominium tower blocks, the Palm is arguably the most attractive and scenic-nine, with a wonderful array of impressively designed holes. The tree-lined earthmounding that flanks the fairways is frequently home to clusters of pot bunkers, complementing the bunkering around the often elevated greens.
The Rockies and Crocodile nines share the same impressive design characteristics, although with less water in play on the Rockies course. There is a slightly more open aspect on some of the Crocodile holes, from which you can inspect several of the other resort activities along the way. Just beyond the island green of the par-4 7th, is the pit where a couple of hungry crocs hang-out (but are they real?). The Rockies / Palm combination is generally used for tournaments played at A'Famosa.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends. Rockies-nine is floodlit for night golf.
Must book in advance.

A'Famosa is named after the famous 16th century Portuguese fortifications in nearby Melaka (Malacca). The 520-hectare integrated A'Famosa resort boasts a wide-range of entertainment and activities for the whole family, which among other things include: Animal World, Water World, Outdoor Theme Park, Cowboy Town, Microlight Flying Club, horse riding, fishing, go-karting, archery, paintball war games, and much, much more.
Just outside the city of Malacca (in the Malay language Melaka) you'll find four well-rated and enjoyable golf courses. 35 km N of the city centre is the A'Famosa Resort and a Ross Watson design. Just 15 km NE of the centre are three clubs that almost touch at their boundaries: Ayer Keroh (Ghaffar Baba), Tiara Melaka (Nelson & Wright) and Orna (Andy Dye).
