From Enniskillen, take the Belleek road (A46) north-west for 4 miles. Lough Erne Golf Resort is on the right hand side and the entrance is through Castlehume Golf Club.
Lough Erne Resort (Faldo course): Opened for play in 2007, this Nick Faldo design quickly won accolades as one of Ireland's most spectacular inland golf courses. Located on the banks of Lough Erne and the smaller Castlehume Lough, the course provides many stunning views across the lakes and out across the beautiful County Fermanagh countryside.
Lough Erne is home to two championship courses: the Faldo and the easier-going, less undulating Castle Hume course. Faldo's well-crafted and challenging parkland layout, benefitted handsomely from its neighbour, with a couple of Castle Hume's lakeside holes incorporated into the early section of the Faldo design.
With a blend of tree-lined holes and others in more open, links-style settings, the course climbs up to the highest point on the estate; here the views are at their best. Other holes bring you directly alongside the impressively picturesque lakes. With many excellent parkland, links-style and lakeside holes to enjoy in such a spectacular setting, the resort can proudly boast a championship layout that ranks with the best inland courses in all of Ireland.
Without any distraction from housing or passing roads, Lough Erne provides a wonderfully natural, quiet and scenic retreat, as well as a wonderful test for your golf game. All of this was no doubt appreciated by the heads of the world's leading economies at their 2013 G8 Summit.
