Jakarta Golf Club, one of the oldest golf clubs outside the British Isles, is home to an unpretentious tree-lined parkland layout. Usually referred to as "Rawamangun", it is one of the closest golf courses to central Jakarta. Founded as the Batavia Golf Club in 1872, the club moved to the Rawamangun district of Jakarta in 1937. Jakarta GC has hosted many top level tournaments, not least several Indonesian Open championships (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Jakarta GC). In 1981 the eighth Indonesian Open was won by American golf legend Payne Stewart.
