21-year-old Ryo Hisatsune (Jpn) was voted the 2023 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year as the leading first-season player on the European (DP World) Tour. Hisatsune finished 17th on the European Tour's Order of Merit (Race to Dubai), accumulating 1,964 points, and estimated earnings of €1.4 million during the Tour season. He became the first Japanese golfer to win this award.

24-year-old Matthias "Matti" Schmid (Ger) was selected as the 2021 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year and leading first-season player by the European Tour's Tournament Committee. He finished 114th on the European Tour's Order of Merit (Race to Dubai), accumulating 399 points, and prize-money of €213,176 during the season. Schmid turned professional after winning the amateur's Silver Medal at the Open Championship in July. He secured his Tour playing rights for 2022 in just three months after turning professional.
