Played as the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series (Portland) (Jul 1-3; LIV Golf event; 54-hole 48-player no-cut individual event, and accompanying 4-player team event). [Composite of the Witch Hollow and Ghost Creek courses, Pumpkin Ridge GC, nr Portland, OR].
Individual event: Second-placed Carlos Ortiz (Mex) finished 2 shots behind Branden Grace (RSA). World ranked No.132 Grace scooped the $4 million first prize and world No.120 Ortiz the $2,125,000 second prize.
Team event: second-placed Stingers team (Louis Oosthuizen, Hennie Du Plessis, Charl Schwartzel & Branden Grace) finished 7 shots behind the Four Aces team (Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Pat Perez & Talor Gooch), who shared the $3 million team first prize.
Note: the second of eight 2022 "Invitational Series" events run by Greg Norman's Saudi Arabian-bankrolled LIV Golf company ... a rival series of events to those staged by the world's established men's golf tours.

The US Women's Amateur Championship (106th). 14-year-old Kim (USA) beat Katharina Schallenberg (Ger) by 1 hole in the final to become the youngest ever winner of this championship. [Witch Hollow course, Pumpkin Ridge GC, nr Portland, OR].

The US Women's Open (58th) (July 3-7). Lunke (USA) beat Angela Stanford (USA) and Kelly Robbins (USA) in an 18-hole playoff: Lunke 70 (-1), Stanford 71 (E), Robbins 73 (+2). This was Lunke's first LPGA Tour win, and the first time the US Women's Open was won by a qualifier. [Witch Hollow course, Pumpkin Ridge GC, nr Portland, OR].

The US Women's Open (52nd) (July 10-13). Second-placed Nancy Lopez (USA) finished 1 shot behind Nicholas (Eng), who claimed her only LPGA-recognised major championship win. This was the fourth runner-up finish for Lopez in her national Open, a championship she was never destined to win. [Witch Hollow course, Pumpkin Ridge GC, nr Portland, OR].

The US Amateur Championship (96th) (Aug 19-25). Tiger Woods (USA) beat Steve Scott (USA) at the 38th hole in the final. This was the third of three consecutive US Amateur titles won by Woods. [Witch Hollow course, Pumpkin Ridge GC, nr Portland, OR].
Chevron Championship: Carlton Woods near Houston in Texas provides the stage for the first women’s major championship of 2025, where Nelly Korda defends her title. (April 24-27).
Soudal Open: successor to the Belgian Open, the Soudal Open takes place on the quiet, wooded North course of Rinkven Golfclub. Belgian stars Thomas Pieters and Nicolas Colsaerts will be vying for top honours. (May 22-25).
Rory McIlroy: with his 2025 win in The Masters, Rory joined the pantheon of golfing greats who have achieved a career Grand Slam of men’s majors ... Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the only others in this select band.
Bernhard Langer: he may have played in his last Masters Tournament, but the 67-year-old German will be trying to extend his own record, and win a 13th senior major title at the 36th Regions Tradition. (May 15-18).
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
