Cabot Bordeaux (Chateaux)
Cabot Bordeaux (Châteaux course) (formerly known as Golf du Médoc): Visiting one of the world's greatest wine-making regions is in itself a mouth-watering prospect. Add to that the opportunity to stay and play at the very impressive Cabot Bordeaux resort, and one can be forgiven for thinking the "planets have aligned". Home to the 18-hole Châteaux and Vignes courses, the resort also boasts a 4-star onsite hotel, great cuisine and as much of the local wine as you can handle.
In a delightfully natural, open and gently undulating environment, the Bill Coore designed Châteaux course exudes a distinctly "Scottish-links" character. In addition to an abundance of gorse bushes, natural looking bunkering and occasional ditches and water hazards, the course also contains artefacts with a more local flavour. With each hole named in honour of a great Bordeaux wine château, oversized wine bottles provide marker posts indicating 135 metres to the green.
The quality of the greens, the influence of the wind and the layout's technical difficulties ensures this championship course provides a top-quality golfing challenge. When you've finished, there's nowhere better to conduct your post-round deliberations than in the splendid clubhouse, with a bottle or two of the local produce.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

Excellent
Cabot Bordeaux is part of the growing Cabot Golf collection. Co-founded by Canadian businessman Ben Cowan-Dewar and American entrepreneur Mike Keiser (of Bandon Dunes fame), Cabot started out with two superb 18-hole coastal courses at Cabot Cape Breton (Links and Cliffs courses) in Nova Scotia.
The brand's expansion now includes Cabot Citrus Farms (Oaks and Barrens courses) in Florida (formerly known as World Woods); Cabot St Lucia in the Carribean; Cabot Highlands in Scotland (Castle Stuart and Old Petty courses); Cabot Bordeaux (Châteaux and Vignes courses) in France (formerly Golf du Médoc), and Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia.
The opening of an on-site hotel in May 2007, established Golf du Médoc as one of the best Stay&Play locations in south-west France. The Châteaux course has hosted the French Open, a PGA European Tour event. For more details view Top golf tournaments at Cabot Bordeaux..
