Mill Hill Golf Club: Of all the hidden gems around London, Mill Hill is one of the best in terms of course layout, great bunkering, excellent greens and overall course presentation.
The only drawback, if drawback it be, is that the course nestles between two of London's busiest approach roads, the M1 and A1. Traffic noise is therefore inevitable, but once you get past the third hole, it will be the quality of the layout that gets your full attention, rather than the receding drone of modern day traffic.
Mill Hill has always been an absolute joy to play; a superb layout in a tranquil and lush woodland setting. Nowadays some of the tranquility might have gone, but the layout and the splendour of this parkland golfing venue remains.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.

Mill Hill was first recorded as Myllehill in 1547 and appears to mean "hill with a windmill". However, there is limited evidence that a mill ever existed here. In the area's more recent history, the Inglis Barracks at Mill Hill East was home to the Middlesex Regiment between 1905 and 1962.
