Lytham Green Drive Golf Club

3-star: Good course – an enjoyable test for your game.

Est. 1913

Lytham Green Drive Golf Club: Originally known as the Green Drive Golf Club, this course certainly represents a departure from the typical links layouts predominantly found in Lytham St Annes. Here is a parkland course, where avenues of trees line many of the fairways, while smaller than average greens put a premium on accurate approach play.

The relatively flat terrain is home to good-width fairways and modest bunkering, suggesting the possibility of carding a good score; just be aware that water ditches and OB do intrude on about half the holes. Arguably the best hole is the 18th, one of only two par-5s on this par-70 layout, and a hole which contains some of the best bunkering.

The signature hole is the long par-4 14th (Devil's Elbow), which dog-legs from left to right and requires water ditches to be crossed twice before reaching the postage-stamp green. A pleasant golf course that nicely complements the sterner challenges to be found in Lytham St Annes.
