Little Aston
Little Aston Golf Club: Laid out in Little Aston Park, and located close to the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, you'll find one of the best and most quintessential of English parkland layouts. The course occupies a beautiful woodland setting, and sits on a stretch of fine old park turf, with an easy-draining subsoil of sand and gravel.
Once played, you'll be unlikely to forget the quality of the upkeep and the excellence of Little Aston's bold and impressive bunkering. Threatening alongside and across the fairways, and around the top-quality greens, the large and impressive sand hazards present a constant threat to carding a good score.
Apart from a gentle slope that leads you down and away from the clubhouse at the par-4 1st, and eventually back up again at the par-4 18th, the terrain here is relatively flat. In addition to the threat posed by the bunkering, there's also some water to contend with on the approaches to the 12th and 17th holes. The tree-line that defines most of the holes is generally not too dense, so an automatic reload after a wayward shot may not be necessary.
Visitors welcome on weekdays (except Thurs) and Sundays.
Must book in advance. Handicap required.

Just to the north of the golf club is a Grade II listed 18th century stately manor house, Little Aston Hall. The house is now divided into luxury apartments, while the grounds around the house are occupied by a variety of apartment buildings and other assorted homes. The original stately house was constructed around 1730 by Richard Scott of nearby Great Barr Hall. It was later restyled by architect James Wyatt for William Tennant in the early 1800s.
