Denham Golf Club: this excellent Harry Colt designed championship course sits comfortably in its Buckinghamshire countryside surroundings. Exuding traits of both parkland and downland, the two nine-hole loops offer tree-lined holes and others occupying more open terrain. Punctuating the straightaway and doglegging par-4s and two par-5s (which come back-to-back at 13 and 14) are four wonderful par-3s.
Here you'll find Colt's design principles much in evidence. The gently downhill opening hole is an easy-going starter. Like most others it plays to a generous width fairway. The 10th hole, running parallel to the first, also sets off from the "starter's hut" (now converted into a "halfway house"). The par-4 9th and 18th holes also run parallel to each other, gently climbing back-up to the halfway-house and Denham's charming brick-built clubhouse.
Occupying a wonderfully natural setting of forests and fields (and a small aerodrome), the strong front-nine hands over to a more varied and expansive back-nine. Throughout, there's no water hazards to speak of. The stylishly designed green complexes are handsomely framed by sand-faced bunkers, while plenty of bumps and hollows surround the always subtly-sloping putting surfaces.
Pick of the holes: there's plenty to choose from! The sweeping and handsomely bunkered par-4 17th encapsulates all that's best in a Colt designed golf hole. The lovely par-3 12th, with an old-world cottage and garden as a backdrop, and the par-5 13th, requiring a drive over a small "ravine", are also memorable. On the front-nine, the course takes-off (literally) at the beautifully bunkered doglegging par-4 4th and very attractive long par-3 5th.

Denham Golf Club is the home club of renowned golf course architect Donald Steel. His prolific design portfolio includes many well-known layouts, predominantly located in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe. He has also designed courses farther afield; one of our favourites being the Highland course, Primland in Virginia, USA.
From the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s Denham was perhaps best known as the location of the Denham Film Studios. It was here, less than a mile from the golf course, that several famous British films were made, including Henry V (1944), Brief Encounter (1945) and Great Expectations (1946). Filming at the studios ceased around 1953, and the site has since been redeveloped for a variety of residential and light industrial uses.
124th US Open: the No.2 Course at Pinehurst once again plays host to this most illustrious championship (June 13-16). Wyndham Clark defends his title, having won at Los Angeles CC in 2023.
79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.
(May 30-June 2).
Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
Stay&Play at Prince's: excellent onsite Lodge accommodation available
