Mission Hills Dongguan (Rose-Poulter)
The Rose-Poulter course at Mission Hills Golf Club, Dongguan is the product of a redesign project and the renaming of Mission Hills' former David Duval course. This tree-lined parkland course features numerous water hazards, deep groundcover and a mix of long, short and angled doglegging holes. The front-nine climbs to a secluded natural valley in the northeastern corner of the site, while the finishing stretch tumbles down to the spacious, clubhouse setting.
A stream meanders through many holes, requiring accurately placed shots to avoid this natural water hazard. Deep, flat-bottom bunkers abound, collecting errant tee and approach shots to the green. The course lies in close proximity to the Annika and Olazabal layouts; the par-3 17th holes of all three of these courses sit side-by-side.
The Mission Hills luxury golf resort at Dongguan is home to five championship golf courses (Olazabal, Annika, Rose-Poulter, Norman and Leadbetter), with two more (Faldo and Pete Dye) located just 5 km away at the Mid-Valley clubhouse. Another five Mission Hills courses (World Cup, Vijay, Els, Ozaki and Zhang) are located 15 km away in Shenzhen. The Olazabal and Norman courses are typically the highest rated of the courses at Dongguan, but all five are well crafted and pleasantly undulating championship layouts.
